Don't worry. I know what's happened. You've been browsing the Internet and suddenly this fake antivirus infection popped up on your computer! We've all been there, and unfortunately - these infections are becoming much more commonplace thanks to them infecting the likes of "Google Images" and other legitimate websites. I will go so far as to say that these tools should actually be expected online... so you shouldn't be too concerned. Obviously, we're going to be getting it off your system, but it will take a little more than using "Norton". So here goes!
What Is Antivirus Antispyware 2011?
This is a fraud which is known as a "malware" (malicious software) infection. Designed to look like a legitimate tool, it's a complete scam which is going to do NOTHING to help your system; and is also going to be blocking a lot of the important software which your PC will be using to run. The way to do it is to first restart your system into "Safe Mode" (to stop the infection loading), and then use a tool that's able to remove all of its files.
The first step to get rid of this virus is to restart Windows into "Safe Mode". This is done by restarting your computer, pressing F8 continuously before Windows loads up, and then selecting "Safe Mode With Networking". This will load up Windows without any of the files that the fake infection will be using to run, which will actually allow you to get rid of it.
After restarting into safe mode, you then need to download an anti-spyware tool. Anti-virus does NOT work to get rid of this infection because the likes of Norton are unable to target the files / options that Windows needs to run. If you're not able to get rid of the virus, you have to be able to delete any of the infected settings that Windows may have inside. This can be done by downloading a program called "SuperAntiSpyware" and letting it clean out the infected setting that your PC will have
